John. F Kennedy ( Chapter 12 )

I knew that John F. Kennedy was killed by a man and the man who was supposed to kill Kennedy was also killed by somebody so nobody knows the truth who actually killed the president even now. I have seen the Japanese TV show about these kind of stuff before and I also have seen the "incident" on YouTube so I assume myself that I know about him to some extent. However, that is not OK because he is as ten times wonderful president as I have thought.  Kennedy was president for only about a thousand days. His death was a terrible shock for people around the world. Many saw it happen on TV. A short time before his death, Kennedy was happy and smiling. Then in a few seconds, the US lost a fine young president.  This is well-known fact, even most Japanese know about the incident. I am not a contemporary of him but I can imagine how shocking that was for people who were living the era.  But people remember the good things about Kennedy more than the problems. He was a strong, intelli

John F. Kennedy (Chapter1)

This week, I am in charge of chapter 1 of John F. Kennedy. In chapter 1, it is mainly about his attraction, so I am going to write about his attraction, quoting from the book.  John F. Kennedy died more than fifty years ago, but the world still remembers him. There are many books about him, and in 1991 Oliver Stone made a film, JFK, about his death. Important buildings and other places carry his name. Perhaps the most famous is the John F, Kennedy International Airport in New York, but there is also the John F, Kennedy Space Center, John F, Kennedy University, and many schools.   I only knew John F, Kennedy International Airport, so first time I read and fine it there are such big number of buildings and books about him, I was really amazed.   The government of Canada even called a mountain by his name: Mount Kennedy in the Kluane National Park in the Yukon.  It is very interesting that John F, Kennedy influenced even how foreign people call their own country’s mountain.   He was also

John F. Kennedy

This week, I read John F. Kennedy. I thought I knew about him well before I read the book. But I was able to learn lots of new thing about him through reading it. So, I am going to introduce some facts which you might not know.  There are many interesting "first" about Kennedy. He was the first American president to be born in the 1900s. He was the first Catholic president, and the first president to win a Pulizer Prize, a special award from Columbia University, for a book that he wrote. He was also the first US president to die before his mother and father.   He was born outside Boston in Brookline, Massachusetts and he has an elder brother and seven younger siblings.   After he grown up, he joined navy and fought for the US. In April 1943, Kennnedy was assigned to Motor Torpedo Squadron TWO, and on April 24 he took command of PT-109, which was based at the time on Tulagi Island Solomons.  Like this, I've learned a lot from the book. Just because the people is very famo

Port Out Starboard Home

This time I read Port Out Starboard Home. So I am going to introduce the book. Sometimes when the true origin of a word isn’t known (and sometimes even when it is), entirely fictitious theories and tall tales emerge to try to fill in the gap. These so-called folk etymologies often provide neater, cleverer, and wittier explanations than any genuine etymology ever could, all of which fuels their popularity and makes them all the more likely to be passed around—but sadly, there’s just no escaping the fact that they’re not true. So many words we missunderstand the true are explained here. I feel I am so interested of the book while reading because I can learn the origine of English words by reading it.

Sherlock Homes

This time, I read Sherlock Homes. so I am gong to introduce the plot. Although the character has been used in many adaptations of Sherlock Holmes stories, Irene Adler only shows up in this tale. She is often portrayed as Sherlock’s love interest, though he did have a bit of a crush, it was more a respect for her wit. The story begins with a visit from the King of Bohemia in disguise. The king is engaged to a young Scandinavian princess from a very conservative family. The problem is five years before, the king had had an affair with a beautiful opera singer, Irene Adler. She was in possession of some love letters and a photo of the two of them together. He needed it back, but all attempts to retrieve it had failed, including burglary, threats and bribes. He offers Sherlock a thousand pounds to get it. Sherlock accepts the job. In disguise, Sherlock finds Irene just as she is marrying a successful lawyer and preparing to leave for America. After setting up a plan with Watson, his tr

The Curious Incident of the dog in the night-time

I read  The Curious Incident of the dog in the  night-time. So I will introduce this by using some quote. 1.He was asking too many questions and he was asking them too quickly. They were stacking up in my head like loaves in the factory where Uncle Terry works. When people volley a series of questions at the narrator Christopher Boone, his brain can’t keep up. The questions stack up too quickly, and his brain short-circuits. Here, Christopher explains that he needs time to process each question logically. The way Christopher’s brain works makes everyday conversations, especially heated ones, especially difficult for him. Christopher ends up feeling overwhelmed and oftentimes resorts to groaning to block out the sensory overload. Christopher’s stressed response to social disorder limits his ability to handle confrontation throughout the book. This will not be a funny book. I cannot tell jokes because I do not understand them.   Christopher’s autism limits his ability to participa

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Harry Potter sereise is one of the most famous tales in the world. This time, I read Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. firs of all, I am going to introduce the plot of the story.  Harry Potter has lived under the stairs at his aunt and uncle's house his whole life. But on his 11th birthday, he learns he's a powerful wizard -- with a place waiting for him at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As he learns to harness his newfound powers with the help of the school's kindly headmaster, Harry uncovers the truth about his parents' deaths -- and about the villain who's to blame. This is one of my favorite books because the story is very easy to understand and the author's way of  writting is so descriptive so I can picture the scene with ease.
